Abstract-This study was attempted to analyze the factors affecting length of disability days related industrial accidents.
Data was collected from January 1, 1900 to December 31, 1990 from the insurance payment records in the E office of local labor department of 2,159 injured workers who received compensation as a result of injury.
Among personal characteristics, the length of disability days were longest in the old age group and the difference was statistically significant. There was no significant difference in the variable of sex and income.
As for the occupational characteristics, type of industry and the duration of
work were not statistically significantly.
According to the injury characteristics, length of disability days were longest in the multiple diagnoses group, and in the multiple injury group and the differences were statistically significant.
According to the length of disability days by stepwise multiple regression analysis, statistically significant variables were multiple injury, hospital, general hospital, age, multiple diagnoses, fracture/sprain/strain. All of these variables
were
possible to explain 27.9% of the length of disability days.
Therefore in order to control the length of disability days, these factors should be monitored precisely to ensure proper health management for industry,
